Course Description:

This course is about the design of digital systems using a hardware description language, VHDL. Students will be taught about the building of the individual components of a computer such as ALU and RAM, and how to put them together in constructing a computer.

Students will design and implement a complete digital system application on an FPGA, simulating and verifying the design with test benches, and synthesizing and implementing these designs with FPGA development boards.

Students will acquire practical working knowledge of creating digital circuits using commercial Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) tools [XILINX ISE]

The course is intended for FPGA designers and Digital designers who wants to work smarter and more efficiently – and design products with higher quality.
