  • Understand the function, construction and operation of most of the hydraulic control components used in advanced hydraulic systems

  • Uses of valves and other components
  • Comparison of uses and functions of different valves and other components
  • Measurement of variables such as pressure, flow rate and time
  • Control of pressure and speed
  • Calculations of area ratios, forces, speed, travel time, flow rate and Energy consumption
  • Basic physical principles of hydraulics
  • Use of symbols in accordance with DIN/ISO 1219
  • Understanding and drafting of circuit diagrams
  • Drafting of displacement-step diagrams
  • Assembly and commissioning of control circuits, including faultfinding
  • Assessment of energy consumption
  • Functions and applications of open and closed hydraulic circuits
  • pilot operated directional, pressure
  • Functions and applications of logic control valves
  • Basic hydraulic circuits such as pressure sequence and dual
    pressure circuits , a bypass circuit to the pump, a differential circuit, circuits with flow control valves in the inlet, outlet and bypass, circuits with counter-holding, bypass circuits with a non-return valve, circuits to secure tractive loads, and motor and reservoir circuits

 

Day 1

  • Review for basic Hydraulic course
  • Maintenance of Hydraulic circuit

Day 2

  • Exercise 3: Lifting device with two cylinders Flow divider
  • Use of a flow divider for synchronous running of two cylinders

Day 3

  • Exercise 4: Rapid-traverse feed device for a drilling machine
    Rapid-traverse feed circuit
  • Exercise 5: Control system for a scrap press
    Differential circuit – Familiarization with a differential circuit.
  • Exercise 6: Clamping a gearbox casing – Accumulator
    Use of a hydraulic accumulator as a pressure reservoir

Day 4

  • Exercise 7: Plastic injection-moulding machine
    Dual pressure circuit – Familiarization with a dual pressure circuit
  • Exercise 8: Pipe-bending machine – Rectifier circuit
    Familiarization with a rectifier circuit.
  • Exercise 9: Single-column press – Flow control valves in inlet and outlet lines
    familiarization with the use of 2-way flow control valves in inlet and outlet
    lines. familiarization with counter-holding

Day 5

  • Exercise 10: Machining centre – Sequence control with two cylinders familiarization with a sequence control with two cylinders.  familiarization with a pressure sequence circuit
  • Exercise 11: Magnetic crane – Tractive load
    Familiarization with a safety circuit for a tractive load.
  • Exercise 12: Folding machine – Pressure regulator
    Familiarization with the function and use of a pressure regulator.

Day 6

  • Exercise 13: Earth drill – Rapid-traverse circuit with accumulator
    Use of a hydraulic accumulator for a rapid-traverse circuit.
  • Exercise 14: Machining Centre – Electrical sequence control
    Familiarization with a solenoid-actuated sequence control.

Final Exam
