1. Introduction:
This course is dedicated to modelling and analysis using ETAP software and its
functionalities for successful design & solving various power system practical problems.
ETAP is an analytical engineering software which is helpful for an electrical engineer to
simulate and analyze the steady-state and dynamic power system. It is used by various
sectors such as Generation, Transmission, Distribution, Industrial, Transportation and Low
voltage.

This Course Is Intended for Practicing Engineers, Fresh Graduate Students and Seniors
Students Whom Are Welling to Contribute in The Field of High Voltage Power System
Control & Protection.

3. Previous Experience:
Previous Experience with High Voltage Equipment Control and Protection Is Appreciated.

ETAP For Power Systems Design and AnalysisThe course will begin with the software overview, basics of one-line diagram
creation, data entry, and quickly expands the users’ knowledge to include methods
to automatically perform multiple Studies using multiple scenarios.

2. Load Flow Analysis Study:
The Power Flow Simulation is a fundamental analysis module for demand
evaluation, power flow analysis, losses, power factor correction, and voltage drop
calculations, This Study Includes:

1- Voltage drop study & power flow analysis.
2- Power factor correction
3- Two-winding & three-winding transformer LTC actions.
4- Automatic voltage regulator actions
5- Real & reactive power losses
6- Extensive violation alerts and reporting
7- Toolbar to change & display result units with a single-click.

3. Load Flow Study Work Shop:
The Work Shop Intend to Make the Participate to Perform the Load Flow Study for
His Dedicated System & Solving Errors.

4. Short Circuit Analysis:
This Study allows you to determine fault currents and automatically compare these
values against manufacturer short circuit current ratings. Overstressed device alarms
are displayed on the one-line diagram and included in short circuit analyzer and
study reports, The Course Includes:

1- Balanced and Unbalanced short circuit analysis
2- Display critical & marginal alerts
3- Short-Circuit Reporting

5. Short Circuit Analysis Work Shop:
The Work Shop Intend to Make the Participate to Perform the Short Circuit Analysis
Study for His Dedicated System & Solving Errors, Using Different Standers Such
as IEC 60909 & IEC 61363.

6. Protection & Coordination / Selectivity Analysis Study:
This Study provides an intuitive and logical approach to Time-Current
Characteristic curve selectivity analysis, The Course Includes:
1- Overcurrent protective device coordination / selectivity.
2- Integrated database and embedded analysis capabilities
3- Graphically adjustable device settings via TCC view
4- Equipment damage curve plotting
5- Sequence-of-operation fault analysis
6- Enables coordination engineers to easily and efficiently perform an overcurrent
protective device coordination study
7- Provide an accurate and realistic operating characteristic, time including state
of protective devices
8- Offers insight into troubleshooting false trips, relay mis-operation, and miscoordination
